just a small town girl,
living in an ESPN-obsessed world

i've always gotten along better with guys,
but living with them is a whole new challenge.

it's ESPN, beer, and guy talk 24-7.

i'm just trying to hold onto my Gossip Girl, lip gloss, and heels.

Hot or Not?

Stephen and I have been in an endless argument over leather pants.

I think they're hot. I have a pair of leggings that look a lot like leather, and I love them. It's nice to be able to cover up some skin and still feel sexy, especially in these frigid months when I'm running for my Uggs.

There's something about leather (when it's worn properly) that just screams "badass." I tend to gravitate towards my rocker-chick style when I go out on the town, so perhaps I'm one of the few that actually likes this trend.

Stephen has made it very clear that leather pants are not sexy in the least. I asked him to explain why he was so adamant in his hatred of them, and his only response was, "They're gross."

I was under the impression (or stereotype) that guys would find leather pants attractive. Am I totally off base here?

I'm going to need some feedback on this one. Leather pants, hot or not? Please give some reasons for your verdict too!

I'm kind of interested to see how many guys actually read this ridiculous piece of work.

The Last Supper?

I had the best time last night.

Stephen and I went out with some friends for wings night. Wings night is interesting. It basically consists of lots of drinking while standing in line to buy 10 cent wings.

It's a huge production. Half of the group waits to buy the wings, and half the group runs to grab as many tables as possible. I'm not a fan of wings, I just can't bring myself to chew meat off of a bone. I'm not an animal. I use forks.

Anyway, I ran with a couple friends and we grabbed a few tables and shoved them together. There were a ton of us, but we all managed to squeeze around the tables with our beers and wings (or in my case vodka and 7up). It was the most fun I'd had in a long time. Everything in my life is really uncertain right now. I don't know where I'll be living or working in the next six months, but I know that I have great friends to laugh with.

Stephen and I came back to the apartment and watched The Hangover with Treven. Then the three of us read Cosmo together. Sometimes I really don't miss living with girls at all. I still have people to laugh about all of the ridiculous "advice" in Cosmo and watch movies with me.

I wish I could freeze this moment in time for a little while longer. It's sad to think that in only three months we'll all be going our separate ways.

Whatever will I blog about when all this is done?

Until next time. XOXO

I'm bilingual now!

I went out with Stephen and Treven last night for $3 fishbowls. I wasn't going to go, but they convinced me. It didn't take much. I loooove fishbowls.

While we were there, I was listening to them talk about the hot girls at the bar. I asked them which group of girls they were talking about and they looked at me in shock. Evidently they were speaking guy language and didn't think I would understand what they were talking about.

It's official. I am now fluent in guy-speak. I don't know if this new skill will impress guys or freak them out. I might have to keep it a hidden superpower.

Random hilarious quote:
"Um, my hips do not move like yeah." -Stephen, while dancing to "Party in the USA"

What is with that weird boy smell?

I returned in all my glory to my apartment on Sunday. By glory, I mean 2 suitcases, a hamper, a tote, a laundry basket, and a duffle bag full of clothes, shoes, and accessories. Boy, do I know how to shop.

For the 2 weeks prior to my return, my brother and Treven had been the only ones at the apartment, with the occasional cameo from Stephen. Evidently, my presence is the only thing that prevents the apartment from getting that distinctive guy smell. You know the smell. It's the one that permeates a room when 5 guys are passed out from a night of drinking. It's completely indescribable, but oh so recognizable.

This smell was the first thing I noticed when I walked through the door.

Now, I don't walk around the apartment spraying air freshener all the time. And it doesn't smell boy-like when I get back after being gone all day. So I really have no idea what happened. Maybe my very presence is really all that keeps the stench at bay.

There was also a stench of garbage, but that was completely due to laziness and a refusal to take out the trash in a timely manner.

Ah, boys.

I know this was an odd and off the wall post, but I've been curious about that smell for awhile. Do guys notice it too? Was I just used to it after a semester? Has anyone that has been to my apartment before noticed a smell? I'm going to be much more prone to air freshener-spraying now I think.

Hopefully now that class has started, the gentlemen of my apartment will do some crazy stuff that I can blog about, other than simply smelling like boys.

A break from the testosterone.

My posts have been nonexistent lately, but that is mainly because I've been visiting my parents since December 19th. Since then, I've seen Treven once and I haven't seen Stephen at all. Obviously, this has led to a lack of blog-worthy roommate events.

I spent the past weekend alone at the apartment because I had to work in the city. I usually hate being alone, but it was actually enjoyable. I love my parents and my roommates, but sometimes I just need a little alone time to regroup.

It was refreshing to kick back and watch my girly reality shows on the flatscreen. I had friends come over and I didn't have to worry about the guys getting annoyed by our antics.

But, now I'm back at my mom and dad's house. I'm going to kick back and relax during these last couple of weeks left in my winter break.

What's your favorite way to relax?
